About Nigara Hamono - Nigara Hamono is a relatively new knifemaker out of Aomori prefecture, but they are not new as a company. The company has been around for over 350 years, tracing back to its swordsmith ancestors. Knifemaking is a small part of what they do; they also produce large steel beams and such for buildings!

"Stunning looking & performing knife. Just as stunning the speed of delivery from Canada to West Wales. Good work guys."
"All round great knife. Fit and finish is outstanding and came very sharp. Thought it might be difficult to go to a 240mm having been used to a 170 santoku and global g2, but immediately felt great in the hand. Stainless too so don’t need to worry if I leave it out whilst i finish cooking or eating. Would highly recommend"
"This was my first ever Japanese knife, and I could not be more impressed. It looks like a piece of art yet cuts through meat like Jell-0. These knives truly do make a difference when cooking. Very happy with my purchase."
"I work in the industry using my knives daily. I wanted a knife that required less maintenance than my daily go to gyoto. This Nigara VG10 demascus is incredibly sharp and easy to maintain! Thank you Knifewear for doing it again and putting the perfect knife in my hand!"
"First time Japanese knife purchaser and loving it so far"
"I am finding that this has become my go to knife. It can handle almost anything."
"Amazing, very sharp, gets the job done well"
"I got this knife for my father as he's not really an expert and I thought something like a shibata would be too thin for him to feel comfortable using it. This nigara is much better for him and he enjoys using it and finds it beautiful. I would say this is an excellent brand for gifts as it's a little more forgiving but still looks very beautiful and feels good to use. I ordered this one online but when I go to the store in person the staff are always nice and get me what I need quite quickly."
"Wanted an all stainless knife to beat up on a bit and take to the side hustle. This thing had a really nice shape and fit in the hand and seems to hold an edge well so far. Not the greatest performance out of the box but maybe will improve after a sharpening session."
"Love the Nigara VG10 Tsuchime Damascus Gyuto 240mm, my first purchase from Knifewear, the first of many I'm sure! I was able to dice my onions so much finer than with my previous cutlery."
