The "Bad Boy" is based off of the classic boy's axe of the US Forest Service, design to easily accomplish a number of tasks. It's shape is clearly designed for felling, at which it excels. It includes a slightly convex edge which allows it to double as a splitting axe for smaller campsite jobs. The perfect tool to take camping.

    About Council Tools - Back in 1886, While John Pickett Council was in the turpentine business, he found lacking tools that we of an acceptable standard. As one would do, he decided to forge his own. Over a century later, and the work floor of the Council forge houses over 500 cumulative years of axe and tool making experience. Located still on the Council family plot on Lake Waccamaw, North Carolina; Council forges axes meant for the North American wilderness. Council axes are forged from 5160 steel and handled with American Hickory to create heirloom grade axes that match function and form in equal parts.

    Comes with Leather Sheath.

    First time I was not satisfied with a Knifewear product

    "I have bought many items at Knifewear and loved all of them except this product. It just looked lower quality than what I have come to expect from Knifewear. I brought it back into the store and they convinced me that the product was not defective and said that the axe head was not damaged and that the thick glue securing the axe head to the handle was normal. After getting it engraved, I have been informed by several people that in fact this axe is not well made. Sorry to have this experience affect my opinion of Knifewear so negatively after many good experiences."
