Handle

Every carnivore needs a sturdy set of non-serrated steak knives. The Hazaki's smooth edge gives a cleaner cut and better texture, while keeping an edge far better than conventional steak knives, thanks to a blade forged from Japanese steel.

  • Blade made in Japan, handle made in Canada.

Hazaki prefers the natural look and feel of the Canadian wood used in their handles, so they are not sealed. I recommend a light coat of cutting board wax every few months to keep them looking and feeling great!

"Wow, I was surprised by the weight of the knives. Based 9n the pictures I was assuming they would be really light and maybe even flimsy but they have some good weight to them and feel very solid. Japanese blades combined with Canadian hard woods? Genius! Price for a set of 4? Unbeatable. I've been on a constant search for a good quality yet affordable set of knives for a year now and finally pulled the trigger on the Hazaki's and so glad I did. "Sharp and beautiful. I recently ordered the Hazaki and Tojiro steak knives. I had two steak dinner with 6 different people and asked which knife do you like better. The Hazaki was preferred by everyone for their feel and look. Nobody knew anything about either knife, both knives were excellent and sharp. The fact that the Hazaki is 1/3 the price is great. The one down side is the handles should be waxed or oiled better out of the box."

"These knives look great and work brilliantly. After a couple of months' use, the edge has held up really well across a range of cooked protein, not just steak. The handle is comfortable for a range of hand sizes, but isn't sealed so for cleanup a quick wash (no soaking) and the occasional wax is what I'd suggest. Especially at this price, buy two sets so your guests won't miss out. Also, the price-quality makes these a great gift idea."
