The only cutting board designed specifically with knives in mind. Hasegawa cutting boards are treasured by chefs and knife lovers for their soft surface that gives way to you knife's edge, without scarring or gouging like traditional wooden boards. This helps keep your knife sharp far longer than conventional wood boards while the rigid wooden core keeps the board sturdy and prevents warping. This ingenious technology was born from the Hasegawa corporation's history of making skis.

As if that didn't make them awesome enough, these boards are also super lightweight and antibacterial! The boards are impregnated with ionized silver which is completely safe for humans, but essentially 'deactivates' bacteria on the board. While we still suggest washing them after cutting meat, these boards are far safer than standard plastic boards.

  • This board is slightly firmer than regular Hasegawa boards.
  • 360 x 200 x 20mm (14"x8"x.8")
  • Antibacterial & lightweight.
  • Dishwasher & bleach safe.
  • Hot meat may discolour board.
  • The super-soft surface can scratch up more easily than wooden boards.
  • Use a Hasegawa board scraper to remove gouges and stains.

About Hasegawa - Originally a manufacturer of skis, Hasegawa was started in 1955 in Chiba, Japan. Their desire to create the best possible skis drove them to innovate techniques of adhering a plastic coating over a wood core, which eventually led to their world-famous cutting boards treasured by chefs and knifenerds worldwide.

My worst purchase from this store!!

"Stick to wood cutting board folks. This is just another piece of expensive cheap plastic board. The cut marks are quite visible, and can be felt. See photo. My worst purchase from Knifewear. I regret buying two of these (giving one as a gift before trying it out myself first)."

Christine H. (1/5)

Good quality cutting board

"Good quality board, purchased a second board."

Wendy K. (5/5)

A great cutting board

"Solid yet light, looks great clean or dirty but so easy to clean. I love it, a great secondary board to the standard Knifewear Larch board."

Darren R. (5/5)

Great board

"No complaints, solid, overall great board. The softness takes a little getting used to, probably not great for a lot of rock chopping."

Jeremiah L. (5/5)

Versatile cutting board

"My husband and I have been using the Hasegawa cutting board for almost a year now. It is a game-changer in our kitchen. The softer surface is gentle on our knives and the board is so easy to clean. It's both functional and practical and we couldn't be happier with this purchase."

Q&A

Hi, do they make a bigger version of this for home use board? Or is that the FSR20-4626 $150 one? Thanks.
The FRK20-3620 is slightly harder than the other Hasegawa boards we offer, we do not have a larger one in the same line. The FSR20 & FSR25 boards are larger but are softer too.
I'm trying to decide between the Hasagawa Cutting Board for Home Use vs the Hasagawa Soft Cutting Board with Wood core. Both descriptions mentions a wood core. I don't know anything about these boards so I'm wondering what the difference besides dimensions and price?
Hi Jacob, thanks for the question. Functionally, there is really a big difference, they are made from two different synthetic materials, but we've not seen any differences. Really it comes down to the sizes you are looking. - Ellie
Hi, Do you have an idea when this will be back in stock?
Hi Romario, we hoping to get them before Christmas, but a this time, it could be early next year as they are arriving by sea, so unfortunately delivery can be harder to predict. Are you on the back in stock list for the board? - Ellie
