About the Hatsukokoro Ryuhyo - This Hatsukokoro stunner pairs SG2 Black Damascus steel with a whisper-thin grind that makes it feel like you're wielding air. Crafted in Seki by artisans who've perfected their trades—knife makers, handle makers, sharpeners—it's proof that machine-forged blades can match their hand-forged rivals. Lightweight, laser-sharp, and undeniably gorgeous.
About the Shape - Inspired by the profile of a traditional European chef knife and badass tip of a Kiritsuke (Traditionally a single bevel knife), double bevel Kiritsukes are a multi purpose knife with a slight meat cutting bias. If you want one knife to do it all, and look cooler than your buddy, this is your knife. For the at-home or professional cook, we recommend a Kiritsuke which measures between 210mm and 240mm long.

"Stunning knife for a great price. Came extremely sharp. Cuts through food like butter!"
"This is my first Japanese knife and I love this knife. Best knife I have ever owned. Your videos are the best and they SHOW you what you should be buying next. The Pety is my next knife. Thanks foe everything. You guys ROCK."
"Light and laser sharp"
"It is beautiful and cuts with almost no resistance. The blade is very thin and feels really light. The handle is quite heavy giving the knife a feel in the hand I did not experience before. I previously bought a bunka which is a bit thicker and therefore heavier in the blade. While the wheight of my older bunka feels like "more" in my hand, the light design of Hatsukokoro Ryuhyo makes the knife feel smaller and easier to handle. With this knife you get something unique to look at that is increadibly sharp out of the box and easy to handle. I can fully recommend it."
"I went to get my first knife from Knifewear store during the garage sale with a wish list with this knife in bunka size. They were out of the bunka size and I am happy to say I am actually glad they were. Only an inch longer than the bunka. This knife is like cutting with a laser compared to my old block set knives. The act of cutting with this is causing me to cook more, so my wife likes it too. The cost / value is exceptional considering what your getting for the price. Thanks to Knifewear!!"
