Hazaki prefers the natural look and feel of the Canadian wood used in their handles, so they are not sealed. I recommend a light coat of cutting board wax every few months to keep them looking and feeling great!

"Far better than traditional serrated meat saws. You can carve around bones with these, if you're wanting to save the bones for soup. Don't use them on ceramic or pewter plates, though. Paper plates or wooden steak plates, for these. They're really pretty, well-drawn, and they CUT. A hundred bucks for a set of four? No-brainer."

"Wow, I was surprised by the weight of the knives. Based 9n the pictures I was assuming they would be really light and maybe even flimsy but they have some good weight to them and feel very solid. Japanese blades combined with Canadian hard woods? Genius! Price for a set of 4? Unbeatable. I've been on a constant search for a good quality yet affordable set of knives for a year now and finally pulled the trigger on the Hazaki's and so glad I did. Love this mixed set that has all the different woods. They are beautiful, razor sharp, sturdy, and I couldn't be happier with it."
