So far so good.
"Cleaver performs well, is well-balanced and was finely sharpened at delivery. Cuts well, cleans easily. A beautiful piece too, with the stainless-steel damascus showing ripples up the broad blade. Handle with care though, as the mirror-polish shows even minor scratches very prominently, and the stainless steel, while easy to care for, is a little easier to scratch than a carbon steel would be. NB: the handle for this knife has an asymmetrical cross-section, such that it is more rounded on the right side. This creates a very comfortable grip for a right-handed person, but lefties may have issues. It could also make it a bit harder to index the blade's orientation by feel, even as a righty. This is not an issue for the way I use it: I almost always "choke up" by pinching the base of the blade with my thumb and forefinger, so the blade is easily indexed regardless. However I could see it being an issue for people who prefer a different grip (e. g. , if you want to get more power by holding it farther back, especially considering that the balance point is relatively far back for a cleaver - essentially right where the handle and blade meet). Overall, a very impressive for the price - it does "spark joy" - just worth noting that slight quirk about the handle-shape."
