The head is offset from the handle and angled, making it parallel with the ground when held downwards at arm's length. This angle, combined with the toothy edge, makes it perfect for harvesting vegetables and whacking weeds in your yard!
About Suzuki Uchi Hamono - Tsukasa Suzuki is a talented blacksmith from Yamagata prefecture. He learned to forge from his father and has been blacksmithing for over 40 years. The family is primarily known for forging sickles for harvesting, as agriculture is another major industry in the area.

"Sliced down grass like nobody’s business! Took down a couple of maple tree suckers that were about an inch thick too! Dandelions and other leafy greens were no match for this tool! I did put some tung oil on the handle, as the store employee suggested finishing the handle with something as it is “raw” wood. Might need a sheath of some sort as it is ridiculously sharp and it would suck to absentmindedly put your hand on the edge!"
