Project knife
"You are paying for the materials and heat treatment. The knife itself is in horrendous shape (that’s why it’s $250 usd) - bad geometry and bad OOTB sharpness. The shinogi line is scratched, the choil is not polished (I sanded it), and I spent about 2hrs on a Naniwa diamond #400 to get the kireha flat. There are many many low spots on the kireha, making it impossible to do a proper kasumi finish. I’m hesitant to buy again given how much stone I lost on this but oh well, I like sharpening and I kinda know what I’m getting into before the purchase."
